So about that

Remember the romantic anniversary gift I mentioned in my "things I should mention" post?
Well,  I'm going to tell you about that.

I've told you before how pretty much the whole time Jacob and I were dating, was spent on his little red couch making out.  We talked too, and stared at each other a lot.
  But mostly, we made out.

He bought a cool bachelor pad in the city, and a cool red couch, about 1 month before he met me.
(He had big plans for bachelorhood - but I squashed those pretty quickly).

On our second date when he took me to his place, his furniture consisted of a futon mattress on the floor, and this red couch.
(Of course we never made out on the futon mattress on the floor - cause we were good Mormon kids and making out in a bed would have been way too sinful).

A few years ago we gave the couch to my niece.  We didn't have a place for it in our house, and we didn't really think much of getting rid of it.  But then, over the past year - that little red couch has come up a few times in our conversations.  We've talked about how much time we spent on that couch and how cool it was and how if we ever got a chance to get it back from my niece, we should.

So on our 10th anniversary, I bribed my niece into giving it back.  (We negotiated that I would make her a quilt in exchange).  I plotted and planned and used my muscles (and my friend Teresa's muscles) to get the couch, bring it home, and get it up two flights of stairs into our master bedroom.  When Jacob came home from work I had him follow me upstairs to the bedroom where my surprise awaited.  I think he cried.  Or at least he had to try hard not to.  The couch looks perfect in our room.
And of course, we have made out on it a few times.

We fell in love on this couch.

Man, you just made me want my old Toyota Tercel back. Unfortunately, it went to a bunch of illegal Mexican framers who helped us with our first house. Don't think I'll be able to track it down. :(

That's not what your room looked like when I helped you move the couch upstairs. Good job! It does look fabulous! Will you come clean, organize and stage my room now?
