I'm not trying to turn into a fashion blogger or anything. Promise. But I have one more.
So this outfit in particular from KendiEveryday inspired me. It might seem like a no brainer to the rest of you - but I realized that I pretty much never wear prints. I wear solids and stripes. (Don't worry Reagan, I don't think I invented them). I try to make it interesting by pairing unexpected colors together - but that's about as daring as I get. And certainly, wearing a stripe and a print is a little out of the box for me. But why? Cause when I make clothes for my girls I mix and match all kinds of patterns and I love the way it looks - but I guess since I'm a grown up and not a kid I am a little more mild and conservative with what I wear.
So I decided that today I would wear my stripe skirt with a floral /print shirt. So I went looking in my closet and For Reals, literally, I had only ONE shirt with any kind of print on it - other than stripes or a graphic T. And that is out of like, 100 shirts. So there you go - now I know what I need to put on my wardrobe shopping list.
So this shirt won - since it was the only non-solid or non- stripe shirt. And then I decided to wear something other than boots. Wow - I'm really stepping out of my comfort zone here! But of course, I'm wearing the same yellow cardigan I always wear - so still a little safe.
And this is what I ended up wearing today. My friend told me that I look weird. I told her to expect me to look a little weird sometimes because from now on I plan to take more risks with my wardrobe. And really, I work with a bunch of boring engineers. So who cares if I look weird once in awhile? They probably only notice that I'm wearing a short skirt. Ok. Enough Talk.
(I don't know why my hand looks like a claw)
Breakdown:
ONLY patterned shirt in my closet: Forever 21. 4 years old or something

I like it! It is interesting and out of the ordinary. I think sometimes we follow stupid, invisible rules that hold us back. This outfit says,"I don't follow stupid rules! I do what I want and look hot doing it!". Good job. You are hot and interesting.
I'm leaving a comment! I love this. I think the outfit looks awesome and your hand does not look like a claw. I'm totally going to Charlotte Russe today. :)
Love your blog and all your creativity!
I was wondering if there's a copy of your home tour/article online somewhere? Love your place and am looking for inspiration for a new house!
