The Universe totally came through

This year, when I asked my girls what they wanted to be for Halloween, Lucy said "the White Queen from Alice in Wonderland".  And Violet said "A Dingo!!!!"

According to Violet, a dingo is a orange and black dog that eats babies.  I guess that is what a dingo is - but I'm not entirely sure how she knows that.  I tried to convince her to be something else (I'm always hoping they will dress as clowns, which was my go-to costume as a kid) but she just got sad and expressed to me her deep desire to be a dingo for Halloween this year.  When I told her I had no idea how to make her a dingo costume she replied:

"Just get some orange fabric and sew it into a dingo costume and put black spots on it!!"

Duh.

So I've been looking at thrift stores for a fancy white dress that I could use as the basis of Lucy's White Queen costume.  I haven't found exactly what I want for her, but I did, magically, find a dingo costume!  For $2!!  It's homemade.  I'm not sure what the sweet mother who made this for her child intended it to be - but for us, its a dingo.  Violet had a pretty specific idea in her head of what a dingo should look like, so I was worried that I might have to convince her that this is, in fact, a dingo.  When I showed it to her she exclaimed

"You did it!!  You got my  Dingo costume!!!  Thank you Mama!!!"

Then she put it on and crawled around the house on all fours with a Halloween Jack-o-lantern bucket in her mouth saying

"Ruff Ruff, Trick-or-Treat"
And shouting to all the neighbors:

"I am a DINGO!!"

So there you go.  Ask the Universe for a dingo costume, and the Universe will bring it to you.  Now I just need to paint her face like a dog and give her a bloody doll to carry around.
(just kidding about the bloody doll.  That would be so gross)

And of course, I still need to make an incredible White Queen dress for Lucy.  The Universe hasn't delivered on that one yet.

The costume is perfect!

I never thought I'd hear you use the expression "Asked the Universe". This is a good thing. I like it!

Can't wait to see Lucy's costume. I don't know what I'm going to be for Tammy's party yet. When you mentioned a clown, I thought... Ya, I could be a clown. :)

That is so awesome she wanted to be a dingo. I laughed hysterically when I read that. My favorite line ever from Seinfeld is when Elaine tells off some lady looking for her fiance by saying "Maybe the Dingo ate your baby". Ha. ha. Glad you found a costume and I too can't wait to see the creation of Lucy's costume. See you at the party!
