Its been awhile since I exploited our friends, the Fugee's, here on my blog. In case you don't know, the Fugees are a wonderful family who moved here from Tanzania Africa about 2 years ago. They used to live across the street from us in the hood, but they have since moved to a nice big house in the suburbs. (We made up the name "Fugees" because their last name is very long and hard to pronounce, plus, they don't all even have the same last name....apparently the whole family name thing is different in Africa. And, since they are refugees, we shortened that to Fugee - and that is what we call them. I wonder if they would be offended by that. They call me Mama Lucy, which I Love)
Last week I took two of the Fugee girls to the airport to pick up their cousin who came for a visit from Ohio. And holy crap, did we have fun! I got to their house about an hour and half before we had to leave for the airport (due to a communication error - which is not uncommon between us and the Fugees). Since I was early, I helped the girls clean the house for their guest, and I helped Dora do her hair. She asked me if I would do her hair like a "white girl's"...which I didn't really know how to do. She then specified that she wanted a side ponytail, bangs, and a flower in her hair. Got it. So I did that and she looked cute. While we were walking around the baggage claim area waiting for their cousin, Dora and Dya were totally getting hit on by all the young boys passing by.
Aren't these girls gorgeous?
Both girls asked me to take a picture of them posing with my purse, which they loved. I new this was a good purchase!
Notice how Dya's shoes match my bag perfectly. She told me I could borrow them sometime.
