Some interesting things happen around here. Things that I don't imagine are happening in every else's neighborhoods. Just some recent examples of what kinds of things happen in the hood:
- Today I looked out the back window and saw Lucy dumping out the remainder of a LARGE (32oz?) can of Budwiser that someone had thrown over the fence into our back yard.
- A few weeks ago I caught a man peeing in the bushes next to my house. I banged on my window until he looked up and saw me - then I shooed him away. Gross! ( I have since had the bushes along that fence removed - so hopefully nobody else will think its a good place to pee)
- Yesterday there were three teenagers dressed up as clowns sitting on the grass next to my house passing around a joint. (I called the police for this one - I kind-of felt like a hypocrite - because I smoked plenty of joints when I was their age - but they need to take it somewhere other than right next to my house!)
- Often, when we turn on the swamp cooler in the summer, the air that is pulled through the house smells like weed. Unfortunately, I don't get the benefit of a contact high.
Mostly, the things that happen around here are mildly annoying and amusing. Luckily - nothing violent or scary happens. Well, except for that one time our house got broken into - but that can happen anywhere, right?

Hahaha, I feel your pain. Luckily, I don't have a yard. But we recently had a dealer post up next to our stoop. For the last 3 or 4 months he has been there every single night. Sometimes him and his homeys (clients) will scrape out their blunts all over the porch and just leave it there. So lame. NIMBY, dammit! Hehe
Teehehe I have some shocker stories about living in the worst part of the country at one point in my life. Also had a few drug dealer neighbours who actually turned out to be the best neighbours ever because they knew everything that was going on and were always on the lookout. As weird as it sounds I never felt safer..eeek! Love your stories :D
