I just got done reading my sister-in-law Tammy's recent blog post and I decided I will copy her and start calling October the "Month of Fun". Usually, I think of February as the month of fun (since that's my birthday month and pretty much the best month of the year) but October is usually kind-of depressing for me (good-bye summer) so I'm thinking if I start calling it the "Month of Fun" like Tammy then I will love it. I'm counting on Tammy to throw a big fall party - because how fun can October actually be if you don't even go to a party?
Fun things I have done so far this month:
(isn't that colorful text fun?)
Gotten my Hair done totally different than normal (Thanks Reagan for the inspiration!)
Hosted a surprise party at my house with 40 strangers attending (my niece talked me into letting her throw a party for her boyfriend's 30th birthday at our house. She is my usual stylist and she did my hair for free in exchange. I only had to clean up one small pile of vomit from my backyard the morning after the party - so it was totally worth it)
Book Club. I didn't read the book, but I ate the food and drank the wine and it was a great book club party with great girls.
More FUN things to come this month:
Family Rook tournament (new tradition my mom and dad started last month)
My sister Marie and my niece Belen coming to stay with us for a weekend!
TARGET is opening by my house. I am so freaking excited for this I can hardly stand it.
(My bank account and my husband are probably a little bit scared.)
That party that I am expecting Tammy to throw
school Halloween parties and costumes and trick-or-treating and stuff
I guess I don't really have that much fun stuff planned. And coming up with this list of fun things is making me stressed out. I'm thinking I should add things to my list like, go to a pumpkin patch, see the witches at Gardner Village, and carve jack-o-lanterns. But that all just sounds like work instead of fun. Maybe I don't actually like fun.

A pile of throw up is the grossest way to describe it in the world. I imagined it all stacked up like a pile of bricks. Which is basically impossible.
How are we opposites on favorite months? My birthday is in february and I still hate it! October and September all the way.
Reagan - What day is your birthday? Mine's the 19th.
I can't help it - I love February. Its dreary and cold and by the time February rolls around I am SO ready for summer - but its my birthday! And everyone celebrates with me! And the celebrations usually go on for days and days. Fall is beautiful and I love the changing leaves and all that....but it always makes me a little sad to say goodbye to summer. But then I remember Boots! and Soup!! and I get excited.
Luckily my husband cleaned up the vomit. A vomit brick pile is really a gross image.
I love October, but not for Halloween. I love it for the fact that it's the beginning of when yams are in season. I can eat yams every night until summer almost. There is no better food on earth.
Yeah for yams!!!!!
Ok, I am feeling the pressure. I've got to get to work!
And, I love you.
