Our friend Dya is going to be graduating from High School this May. She will be the first female Burundi refugee in Utah to graduate from high school. She is planning on going to University in the fall. She is smart and ambitious and I am proud and amazed by her. She asked Jacob if he could take some pictures for her to send out with her graduation announcements. We had so much fun. She is beautiful and very photogenic. Her sister Dora came along and we got some good pictures of her too.
I am pretty sure they have that shirt in every single color.
When we arrived at their house they were busy in the kitchen making us chicken. Every time we go over there they feed us. We're always trying to tell them that they don't need to, but they insist. Often, they will go get a Little Ceasars pizza along with making a meal, just to be sure there is something we will like. I can't get over how sweet and happy and kind this family is. Every time we leave, the whole family comes out to the front porch to wave and yell goodbye as we drive away. It makes us feel like rock stars.
