Motherly Love

As I mentioned in my previous post, I was in California for Mother's day. We arrived back home on Monday, the day after mother's day. I was kind-of wondering if Jacob would take the opportunity to skip out on mother's day since I was out of town, but of course, I married a better man than that. When I walked into the house at about 5pm, it was immaculate. Totally clean, the whole house. And, on the middle of the kitchen table was a package of Oreo cookies and a card. (does my husband know me or what?) I opened the card to read:

Dear Michelle,

I love you so so much. Thank you for taking your role as a mother so seriously. You have a way of relating to Lucy and Violet that astonishes me. They will love you forever, and so will I.

Love, Jacob

Oh. My. Gosh. Is that the sweetest thing you have ever read or what? See men, here is proof - all we want on mothers day is a few kind words, and something sweet. I was seriously elated with my card and my oreos. (and totally clean house.) Jacob didn't stop there though, he got home from work about an hour later with these:

He has been trying to convince me to buy a pair of KEEN shoes for a few years. According to him, they are like walking on clouds all day. These particular shoes are made from recycled rice sacks. They are cute, and Jacob was right, very comfortable.

Thanks Jacob for making me feel special and loved.
