Sunrise at the Lake

This morning Jacob and I got up early. Very Early. Our kids have gone away for the weekend (thank you Tammy!!) so we decided to do something out of the ordinary that we can't easily do with our girls. We got up at sunrise and drove out to the Great Salt Lake. It's a very beautiful and neglected part of the state. Only minutes away from downtown Salt Lake City. If you can get past the smell, there is a quietness and a serenity there that we don't find often living in the hood. So we got up early, grabbed our camera, and set out to see what we could find. It was beautiful. I'd like to go on more early morning adventures with Jacob.

The most interesting shots we got were at an old abandoned trolley car, and an abandoned building. Both have been covered with bright, beautiful graffiti. It was a fun place to take pictures. Here are a few of my favorites.

I love the pictures you took, how nice to have some peaceful time to yourselves. I have never been to the Salt Lake (other than Salt-Air) It is kind of weird how many things we don't do when we live so close to things. (We meaning me) I especially like the picture of you, it made my day, you look so happy.

These pictures are great! I'm going to have to ask for a babysitter to do something similar, you have such great ideas.
