Sewing Skirts

Violet's birthday is next week, so I decided to make her a new skirt for the occasion. I bought this pattern at Material Girls in South Jordan last week. I made one for Violet yesterday, and one for Lucy today. They turned out so stinkin' cute (if you ask me). Violet has been wearing hers most of the day, and is now asleep on the couch with it on - so it looks like it won't actually be a birthday present after all, but I think I'll still have her wear it to her birthday party. Lucy is wearing Violet's skirt in one of the pictures - so it looks like these skirts are going to fit for awhile.

Violet, wearing her skirt as a dress
(she won't be wearing it this way out of the house....just in case you were wondering)

Those are SOOOOO cute!!! Yours are much cuter than the one they had in the fabric store. I'm very impressed! I love that you sew. :) Lucky girls you have who will always remember their mother sewing things for them.

Those are very cute. I love your fabric choices. :)

I haven't sewn in two years (other than mending and the occasional baby present...) I just loaned my serger semi-permanently to a friend who makes diapers for her son, because, um, I don't see myself using it any time soon... *blushes*

Those are ADORABLE! I have a little niece I'd love to make one for... but I gotta ask, where do you find such adorable fabric?

Some of my local favorite place to get fabric:

Whimsy Cottage (cottonwood)
Material Girls (south jordan)
Pipers (sugarhouse)

and look for these desiners:

Amy Bulter
Heather Bailey
Alexander Henry

those are a few of my favorites

Adorable! I can't sew to save my life, I am so impressed. Maybe some type of arrangement could be made to make one for my little girl? Of course you will be highly compensated (well, you know, what I can afford) lol what is your asking price?? :)

Allison - I don't know what my asking price would be. It kind-of takes a lot of fabric for these skirts - because they are so full. I used to sell all kinds of stuff that I made - on ebay and in local boutiques - but I started getting so many orders that it was stressful instead of fun, so I stopped. Anyway, let me think about what my price would be and I'll get back to you.

hmm, I don't know....you said that it takes lots of fabric, and that fabric is very cute and you have to take the time to make them....between 25 and 30? or higher? I don't know what the prices would be for such cute skirts..35? Let me know what you think would be a reasonable price. I showed Alexis and she thinks they are so cute..."mommy I want one too!"
