Payback's a Bitch
Yesterday was a good Father's day, for me. Jacob might not agree. He got a box of black lickerish and a Speed Racer coloring book. (lickerish from me, coloring book from Lucy, Nothing from Violet). He expressed his disappointment with his Father's Day presents today. He said "I got the message loud and clear - I Bombed Mother's day". I wasn't really trying to prove a point....I just couldn't think of a present that was less than $200, (good ideas I had were: Nintendo Wii, BBQ grill, Flat Screen TV....see my point? Expensive.) and we really don't have a bunch of money to be spending on unneeded gifts. Besides, Lucy was really excited to give him the Speed Racer coloring book. She and Jacob went to see it TWICE in the theatres on opening weekend, so she really thought he would like it. And don't forget, he did get a Miata recently.

Oh.. poor Jacob. It's not THAT bad. You got a card that you had to FIND. At least you actually personally handed him the gifts.
Yes, Lucy and Violet personally handed them to him, and they were even wrapped.

A speed racer coloring book, how cute!! All Doug got this year were cards from the kids.
I gave my dad a cinnamon sucker and he also got some black licorice from my sister. Sometimes people are just hard to shop for.
Luckily my dad is easy to buy for. Every significant holiday like: Father's Day; his birthday, and Christmas, he always gets bubble bath from Victoria's Secret. He loves the stuff, so I can at least always fall back on the bubble bath.
