Running Shoes

I've recently taken up running. That's what I like to call it, because it sounds more serious, but really I alternate between walking and slowly jogging around the track. I'm trying to be a runner. I even went and bought myself some serious running shoes. I went to a real running store, where they had me run on a treadmill and video taped my feet while running - to analyze what kind of running shoe I need. After my analysis the cuteskinnyrunner worker lady brought me 3 pairs of shoes. She had me try each one on and run for a few minutes on the treadmill. Two of the pairs of shoes she brought me were really cool looking. Hot pink and lime green. The other pair was navy blue and white. BYU colors. Blech. Guess which shoes were the most comfortable? Yep, the ugly ones. When I told the worker lady that the blue and white shoes were very comfortable, but that I didn't like the way they looked, she looked at me with a blank stare for a moment and then replied " that doesn't matter" !!!! How could it not matter! In what scenario in life does what something look like not matter! It matters to me! But, of course I want to be a serious runner - and I wanted this cute skinnyrunnerworker girl to think I was a serious runner. So I bought the ugly shoes. And I love them.
